The Takata Airbag Recall Campaign is one of the largest automotive safety recalls in history, affecting millions of vehicles across numerous manufacturers worldwide.
The recall was initiated after it was identified that certain Takata airbag inflators could deteriorate over time, particularly following prolonged exposure to heat and humidity.
This deterioration can cause excessive pressure during airbag deployment, potentially resulting in the inflator rupturing and projecting metal fragments into the vehicle cabin, creating a risk of serious injury or death.
Vehicle manufacturers have therefore undertaken extensive recall campaigns to identify affected vehicles and replace the relevant airbag inflators free of charge.
Use our recall-checking tools using a vehicle's registration or VIN. Please note for imported vehicles, the VIN must be used, or simply contact your local Toyota dealer and they will assist you
Affected vehicles should have outstanding recall work completed through an authorised repairer.
