Toyota's new Auris shows petrol can make a comeback - Cathal Doyle, Irish Independent

Inside the cabin a large 7" integrated touch screen with a piano finish is probably one of the best units of its kind available. Keen drivers will welcome dynamic enhancements including revised electric power steering that offers better feedback and feel, while more powerful models get double wishbone rear suspension instead of torsion beams. Back to engines...and first impressions suggest that the new 1.2T unit could become the start of the Auris line up. All together the revisions and changes add up to a significantly improved car putting the Auris right back in contention against the best of its rivals.

Sharper looks, a smoother ride and a new petrol engine for the Toyota Auris - Dave Humphreys,,

An update means that the Toyota Auris is now sharper looking both inside and out, running closer than ever to its mainstream European rivals. Boosting the new model is perky 1.2-litre petrol engine that delivers an improved driving experience too. For this new Auris the designers at Toyota let the European side of the company take the lead in shaping the car's exterior and interior, which is a very good thing. It has a much sharper appearance that moves the car on from what was a somewhat bland design previously. Like its big brother, the new Avensis, the nose of the Auris has a more prominent Toyota badge from which flows chrome trim that links it with the more assertive looking headlights. In fact it could just be the best car in the company's current line-up, exhibiting handsome looks with a more enjoyable drive. The price walks between trim grades make sense and should be competitive enough to entice buyers to choose more well-equipped models as doing so in this case makes for a much nicer car to drive.

A very smart little car indeed - Declan Colley, Irish Examiner

The first thing you notice about this 1.2 litre with some 116 BHP on tap, is just how smooth it is. Along with a six speed manual ‘box, this Auris is as smooth as buttered silk. Various face-lifted elements — new front lights and upper and lower grilles and a revised rear bumper and LED lights — have sharpened up the look and in the interior there has been a lot of revised soundproofing, which adds to that overall smooth feel. The interior has been revamped as well.

Impressive new gadgets and safety features - Cars Ireland

The Toyota Auris has always been a sensible choice in the C-segment but this 2015 facelift adds the crucial element of desirability, as well as some impressive new gadgets and safety features. On the road it's very quiet. Sit inside the cabin and you'll find plenty of space for front and back. Impressive leg and knee area in the back. The multimedia screen is touch screen. It's always very easy to find what you're looking for. It scores a full five star rating on the NCAP safety test.
