Efficient hybrid power

Constructed on Toyota’s GA-K platform and equipped with Toyota’s AWD-i intelligent electric all-wheel drive system, RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid combines the latest Toyota hybrid technology with the highly efficient 2.5 litre Dynamic Force petrol engine. With a full system output of 306 DIN hp/225 kW*, it powers the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid from rest to 100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds*.

Despite its impressive performance RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is also remarkably clean thanks to a new high-capacity lithium-ion battery and enhanced hybrid system’s power control unit it has a CO2 output of just below 29g/km*.

True EV capabilities

With four driving modes, drivers’ have the ability to switch seamlessly from hybrid to pure EV driving allowing the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid to cover more than 65 km* on electric power alone, beyond the 50 km average European daily commuting distance. The pure EV system is also capable of powering RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid to speeds of up to 135 km/h without any intervention from the internal combustion engine, even under full acceleration.

Refined Design

RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid announces its arrival with a number of unique exterior styling features that includes a darkened finish to the grille mesh, grille surround and headlight extensions. At the front new metallic finish on the lower bumper moulding further emphasises its width and planted stance. Moving to the rear, a metal-like finish below the rear screen together with a black finish on the under run conveys a sense of discreet power. Completing the strong visual package new 18 and 19-inch wheel designs combine contrasting bright machined and grey or black finishes.

Interior comfort and styling, no compromise

Every detail of the interior has been considered, including new upholstery designs with a ribbed pattern and contrast red detailing, ventilated seats and the option of luxurious quilted black leather seats with a striking and distinctive red ribbon detail.

At its heart the nine-inch multimedia touchscreen display – the largest in any RAV4 model – delivers a clean, intuitive environment providing full control of the car’s entertainment, information and connectivity functions.

The compact dimensions of the lithium-ion battery allow it to be contained entirely beneath the vehicle floor. With minimal intrusion in the load space, cargo capacity is a generous 520 litres and placed low in the vehicle, the battery also helps give the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid a low centre of gravity, enhancing handling stability and ride comfort.

RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid has been designed to make your life easy. More connected than ever it features the latest Toyota multimedia package providing smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto together with a range of Toyota e-connected services that allow you to check the vehicles battery status, program your car charging and remotely control the AC.

Passenger comfort is assured with the option* of heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats and a panoramic roof that floods the cabin with natural light, whilst technology and convenience features include a heated steering wheel, powered tailgate with hands-free kick sensor, a useful 230v power outlet in the boot and a full colour head-up display providing drivers with essential information at a glance.
