Supply Shortage

These last 18 months have been anything but ordinary. We have been tested in more ways than one. Even now, as we begin to remerge into normality, the impacts of COVID-19 remain.

It has been well publicised that the issues surrounding global supply chains would really kick in toward the start of 2022. The global semiconductor shortage has gotten a lot of attention, and it has halted or delayed the production of vehicles across the automotive industry. We are all affected by this shortage.

We have seen a shortage in semiconductors is causing major disruption, hitting all car manufacturers with restricted availability of critical components and parts. There are many components in a vehicle and missing one of these can lead to lengthy delays – missing many causes serious delays to the delivery of a vehicle to the end of line.

At Toyota, we want to remain transparent with our customers, just like we have always been. After all, we are Ireland’s most trusted car brand. While some models are in short supply, we have planned to have stock available in early 2022. So, if you’re looking for a new car, come in early, to make sure we can guarantee you an early delivery date.

Our sales team members will be with you every step of the way to ensure you are always kept in the know. We’ll keep you updated on the status of your new car and rest assured that we will be prioritising 221.

Demand is high, so if you are thinking about a new car for 2022, please come in and talk to us as soon as you can.
