Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We are committed to creating the most diverse, equitable and inclusive organisation
We aim to be the most inclusive and diverse workplace, where all members feel safe, respected, engaged, valued and able to unleash their full potential. We cultivate, embrace and leverage diversity, to deliver the highest standards of service to our customers, society and sustainably compete in the marketplace.
  • Everybody matters at Toyota

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is a top strategic priority for us. With our collective and sincere efforts, we aim to build a rich and diverse organisation that reflects society, and to achieve true inclusion. Whatever your gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, cultural background, nationality, race, ethnicity, religion or belief system, disability status, physical or mental capabilities, at Toyota, everybody matters.

  • Our DE&I journey

We have already accomplished much on our DE&I journey. Many projects are ongoing to drive inclusion across our 20+ Toyota entities in Europe. For example, we are working towards making our facilities even more inclusive and accessible, by providing inclusion training and developing more inclusive policies. Through the collective efforts of our employees, in 2021 we held our first European Diversity Conference. Every year, we celebrate International Women’s Day with a week of activities, along with International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT), Pride month, and various other events.

  • Our employee networks

Elevating the voice of our diverse workforce is central to our strategy. A major driver and catalyst for change are our employee-led networks. They provide a warm, welcoming safe space for under-privileged groups and allies, raise awareness by organising events and activities, and advise DE&I policies. The networks are open to anyone who would like to join, to take an active role of volunteer or simply support occasionally.

  • Women’s network

Our group is the longest standing network representing corporate, engineering and manufacturing areas. We aim to inspire and empower Toyota women to rise together, unleash their full potential and drive their career forward.

  • LGBTIQ+ network

Founded by the community for the community, our network focuses on education, awareness raising and allyship building. To us, pride means the freedom to express who you are and confidently show up as your authentic self.

  • Diverse abilities network

As we proudly engineer inclusive mobility solutions for our customers, our group strives to make our organisation the most accessible, both physically and digitally, for our employees with physical or mental, visible or hidden disabilities.

  • Cultural diversity network

With over 70 nationalities working across Europe, we understand that in difference lies our strength. Our network promotes a sense of community among employees from different cultural backgrounds, languages, ethnicities, races, religions and faiths.

  • Multi-generations network

Our group aims to embrace the collective strength of different generations and facilitate inter-generational dialogue. We strive to leverage our age-diverse workforce through a teach-and-be-thought culture that promotes the richness of knowledge sharing for One Generation.
