Toyota Ireland donates vital microscope to Temple Street Children’s Hospital

Toyota Ireland is proud to announce it has donated a state-of-the-art microscope to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

The microscope, worth €18,000, will be used to provide diagnoses and investigate illnesses such as meningitis, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections and other bacterial infections among children.

The new microscope, which will be used in the Microbiology Department, will be instrumental in processing patient samples from A&E around the clock and allows for important consultation between laboratory and medical staff. It will also help facilitate vital staff training, making a significant positive impact on the services provided by Microbiology.

Steve Tormey, Chief Executive, Toyota Ireland said:

“Toyota is committed to helping support the communities in which it operates and we are proud to donate to such a worthy cause. The staff at Temple Street work tirelessly to provide the best care possible for their patients and we’re delighted to play our part in supporting them.”

Denise Fitzgerald, CEO, Temple Street Foundation, said:

“We want to offer our sincere thanks to Toyota Ireland for the funding of our much-needed new microscope which will facilitate important staff training and help our team continue to deliver excellent patient care.”
