Leads Market with 13% Share
Toyota has kicked off 2015 as the market leader in new car sales. Ireland’s favourite family car brand sold 3,866 new cars in January, which represents a 38% increase over the same period in 2014. The overall market for sales of new vehicles has increased 31% over 2014 with the Toyota Corolla, Yaris and Auris all in the top 10 most popular models sold in January.
SIMI’s report on registration numbers for passenger vehicles sold during the month of January 2015 shows Toyota as the most popular car brand in Ireland with 13% market share. Following SIMI’s report Toyota Ireland Chief Executive Steve Tormey has called the overall car market projection for 2015 as being upwards of 110,000.
