Every Toyota features a comprehensive array of SRS airbags. Increasingly available are dual stage airbags designed to deploy in one of two stages dependent on the severity of the collision. Even more advanced multi stage airbags are being introduced that deploy in an ultra low mode if the driver’s seat is positioned close to the steering wheel.
Whiplash Injury Lessening Seats
Help to minimise the risk of whiplash injuries by reducing the relative movement of head and torso in the event of an accident. Whiplash is the conventional term for neck sprains. It is often associated with motor vehicle accidents, usually when the vehicle has been hit in the rear.
"Whiplash" refers to injuries that occur to occupants during low speed rear crashes and reflects relative movement between head and torso. The body-driven Active Headrest is designed to keep the relative position between head and torso as the body sinks in the seat and thus protect the occupant from possible injury.
The European New Car Assessment Programme is the independent, official body that assesses the safety performance of cars. Cars are evaluated on adult, child and pedestrian protection using a star rating system. Vehicles are scored out of five stars.
