Through all grades Avensis brings safety to the driver and passengers through standard features such as SRS curtain shield airbags both front & rear, a collapsible steering column and collapsible pedal support strut. There are seat belt warnings for all seats, front and rear and ISOFIX CRS fixation points (rear x 2) with 2 top-tether anchor brackets.

Avensis also offers passive safety features such as side impact bars, head impact protection and reinforced rear seatback against luggage as intrusion, as standard on all grades.
