Avensis features an ingenious line up of engine technologies and transmissions with low friction components, super lightweight compact design and enhanced combustion efficiency. All of our endeavours are based on Toyota's philosophy - "Always Optimising" - and the Avensis petrol and diesel engines are no exception.

The new Valvematic technology on our 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 litre petrol engines increase power by up to 20% and reduces CO2 emissions by up to 15%. The newly refined 2.0 and 2.2 litre D-4D engines feature the latest advanced common rail diesel technology delivering 8% less CO2. The high pressure piezo injector (2000 bar) and intercooled variable nozzle turbo charger help boost optimal performance with low fuel consumption and CO2 levels as low as 135g/km. At the top of the range the 2.2 D-CAT 150 engine features Toyota's unique emissions control technology, which reduces Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) and particulate emissions at the same time.
