Toyota – Ireland's #1 Car Brand For 2011
Toyota Ireland is proud to announce that it closed out 2011 as Ireland’s leading car brand, with sales of 11,646 passenger vehicles, accounting for a 13% total market share -- an increase of 9.2% over 2010. Toyota Ireland has consistently hit the top spot in the passenger vehicle market since the start of the century, ranking number one in eight out of the last eleven years.
From the beginning of the year Toyota was clearly the brand to beat, with a dominant 17.4% share of new vehicle sales (3,762 units) in January alone. Coupled with a strong Dealer Network, Toyota Ireland cites its competitive pricing, model range and levels of specification as well as consumer led offers such as three year’s free servicing offer as the key contributors to its success.
Commenting on the news, David Shannon, Managing Director of Toyota Ireland said: “We’re very proud to have achieved the number one position in what was a very tough year in the Irish motoring market. Our dealer network was able to satisfy consumer demands with numerous low CO2 qualifying vehicles, a wider selection of diesel variants and as always very competitive pricing.
We look forward to another strong year in 2012 with the continued success of the just launched all new Yaris and Auris Hybrid as well as the 2012 Avensis. These models with exciting new offerings such as the Prius Plug-In Hybrid, Prius 7 Seater, Yaris Hybrid and a return to our sport car heritage with the GT-86."
