RSS and Toyota.ie
1. What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and it is a very effective way of keeping up–to–date with the latest information on the Toyota.ie website. Rather than visit our site to find out if new content has been added, RSS will tell you when the new stories that you want are available by delivering them directly to you.
2. Getting started with RSS?
Generally, the first thing you need is a ready–made programme called a newsreader, which is no harder to use than email or web browsers. Most newsreaders are applications that are downloaded from the Web and installed on your computer.
There are many different types of newsreaders available for download (remember to select a newsreader that will work with your operating system):
- Newz Crawler
Mac OS X
Finally, there are some browsers, including Firefox and Opera, which automatically detect RSS feeds for you and also allow you to "bookmark" them. More details are available on their websites.
3.How do I use RSS to get Toyota.ie content?
Once you have installed a newsreader, then you can decide what Toyota.ie content you want. If you would like the latest listing of used cars, for instance, visit the news section where you will notice an orange RSS button on the page.
By clicking on the button you can subscribe to the feed in a number of different ways. One method is to drag the URL of the RSS feed into your newsreader; another is to cut and paste the same URL into a new feed in your newsreader.
4. What are the Toyota.ie terms and conditions for RSS feeds?
RSS feeds of Toyota.ie content are provided free of charge to individuals for personal and non–commercial use only. Users are also subject to our terms and conditions.
Use of Toyota.ie RSS feeds for commercial purposes or by non–profit organisations will require the prior agreement of Toyota.ie and you must first contact the Marketing Department of Toyota Ireland.
By downloading a Toyota.ie RSS feed, you acknowledge that Toyota.ie does not accept any liability for its RSS feeds, and that Toyota.ie is not responsible for the content of external Internet sites.
