Toyota Ireland extends association with Paul O’Connell Until 2015
Munster and Ireland Rugby Star Represents Toyota Ireland in the Land Cruiser
Toyota Ireland extend their relationship with Munster and Ireland rugby hero Paul O’Connell until 2015. The 85 time capped Irish Rugby international, who has opted for the new generation Land Cruiser as his car of choice, has been a Toyota brand ambassador since 2010.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Ian Corbett, Marketing Operations Manager for Toyota Ireland said, “Paul has been a fantastic ambassador for Toyota since we kicked off our collaboration in 2010. As a former captain of Munster, Ireland and Lions rugby squads he has achieved legendary status in the game, and we are proud to continue our relationship with him as he represents Toyota Ireland in a vehicle which itself has achieved legendary status as the world’s best-selling four wheel drive – the Land Cruiser.”
Paul O’ Connell commented, “I’ve really enjoyed working with Toyota over the past two years and look forward to our continued relationship. “As a recognised sports professional representing my country, it’s very important to pick the right brands to work with and you don’t get much better than Ireland’s number 1 car brand. I am a big fan of the Toyota Land Cruiser. It’s the perfect car for me in so many ways – it’s very spacious, looks great and performs equally well in the wilds of the countryside as it does in the city.”
Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh
Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh is a renowned figure in Irish broadcasting as a GAA commentator and has long been a champion of the Irish language. Toyota Ireland holds a long-lasting friendship with Micheál since he became a brand ambassador for Toyota Ireland.
"I come of age this year as a driver of Toyota cars and as is the case with most people when they take a glance backwards it seems like yesterday since I drove my first Toyota."
Micheál drives a Toyota Avensis.
"I like to believe that my current Toyota is a successor in direct line to that Carina; it is a 12 D Avensis and it has ’seen’ hundreds of matches and other events in it's meander all over the country. What I like most about it is its utter dependability so much so that I almost take that aspect for granted. It wakes up with ease in the morning"
Fionnuala Britton has picked the all new Auris as her car of choice as she prepares for the World Cross Country Championships on the 24th March. In December 2012, Britton became the first woman to successfully defend the European Cross Country Championship title. Last month she produced an outstanding performance to win the 2013 Great Edinburgh Cross Country.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Ian Corbett, Marketing Operations Manager for Toyota Ireland said: “We, at Toyota Ireland, are delighted to announce this brand ambassador deal with Fionnuala Britton.
When it comes to athlete sponsorship, our aim is to partner with people that show exceptionally high standards and dedication to their craft. Fionnuala has been the outstanding performer in Irish athletics in recent years and we look forward to supporting her through the World Cross Country Championships and beyond in her quest for qualification to the 2016 Olympics in Rio.”
Fionnuala Britton commented:
“I am delighted to become an ambassador for Toyota here in Ireland. Training mostly from Dublin and with the typical inclement weather it is fantastic to have reliable wheels to take me to and from training. I love the look of the Auris and I am greatly impressed with the cars fuel efficiency and comfort.”
